4 San Antonio school districts announce Jan. 26 closure due to inclement weather

Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD, North East ISD, Northside ISD and Judson ISD will be closed Jan. 26 due to inclement weather.

What you need to know: All regularly scheduled activities planned in SCUCISD for Jan. 26 will be canceled or rescheduled. The district will monitor weather conditions and road safety throughout the day, Jan. 26. SCUCISD families should also watch for follow-up communication from coaches or club sponsors regarding any rescheduled events, according to an announcement made by the district.

Judson ISD will also be closed Jan. 26 due to extreme cold and the potential for hazardous icy conditions, according to an announcement on the district's website.

Both NEISD and NISD anticipate returning to a regular schedule on Jan. 27, according to announcements on their websites. Families are encouraged to monitor social media channels, ParentSquare, and the district's official websites for updates.

Alamo Colleges District cancels Jan. 26 classes

All Alamo Colleges will be closed Jan. 26 due to inclement weather, according to an announcement on the Alamo Colleges District website.

All classes, events and services will be closed.

Some details: Bexar, Comal, Guadalupe and Caldwell counties are under an extreme cold warning until Jan. 26 at noon, according to the National Weather Service, or NWS. Dangerously cold wind chills, as low as 5 degrees below zero, could result in hypothermia or frostbite, according to NWS.

Officials with the Alamo Colleges District will continue to monitor the weather conditions in coordination with NWS. Any urgent updates will be shared through the Alamo Alert emergency notification system, according to a Facebook post from the district.
