410 homes coming to Pearson Ranch development in Northwest Austin

A new neighborhood is coming to the 156-acre Pearson Ranch development.

Tri Pointe Homes announced plans to build 410 homes on 85.6 acres in an Oct. 6 news release. Construction on the new homes—located at the northeast corner of SH 45 and Parmer Lane—is expected to begin in early 2027.

About the project: The neighborhood will include attached row townhomes as well as single-family homes on 40-, 45- and 50-foot lots. Sales are expected to begin in 2028.

A community amenity center with a pool, playground and walking areas is planned as part of the neighborhood, the news release states. Residents will also have access to 15 acres of parkland in Pearson Ranch.

Developer JPI is also planning to build 342 apartments on 9.3 acres in the Pearson Ranch development.

Quote of note: “We’ve put a lot of thought into how to best design and plan this desirable infill location for the benefit of those who will live here,” Bryan Havel, division president of Tri Pointe Homes Austin, said.

WilCo Elections to process 18,000 delayed voter registration records, officials say

The Williamson County Elections Department received 18,762 voter registration records to process as a result of a state backlog caught in September, Communications Manager Connie Odom confirmed.

The department has had to hire additional staff and schedule overtime to process the additional applications, Odom said.

What happened: Texas county registrars began receiving a high volume of new voter registrations and updates to voter registration records all at once in late September, several counties reported.

The backlogged records dated back to October 2025, Williamson County officials stated in a Sept. 24 Facebook post.

The error came from a technological issue from the Texas Department of Public Safety—which can process voter registration applications and updates through its online driver's license portal.

What voters should know: Anyone who registered through DPS on or before Oct. 5 is eligible for the November election even if the county processes the record later.

Those affected after registering online through DPS can still cast a provisional ballot.
