Rodeo showcases, live music: What to do at the 2026 North Texas Fair & Rodeo

From nightly live music to carnival rides to daily rodeo shows, here is a rundown of events at the 98th annual North Texas Fair & Rodeo in Denton.

What to know: The fair and rodeo will be held from Aug. 21-30 at the North Texas Fairgrounds and is put on by the The North Texas State Fair Association, a nonprofit community organization.

Tickets are already available for purchase, with a slight variation depending on the day for gate entry tickets. Access to carnival rides are not included in the gate entry tickets.

What to do: There are several main attractions to the fair and rodeo, including musical acts and different rodeo variations. Rodeo admission is included with gate admission, and seating is first come, first serve at the Coors Rodeo Arena.

The headlining musical lineups at the Miller Lite Main Stage start at 7:30 p.m. There are also music acts at the Cool Zone Revolver Stage every day of the rodeo. Live music is included in entry tickets.

Club Car Wash to offer car wash, car vacuums in Denton

A new Club Car Wash location will start ground-up construction on South I-35E in Denton in October and is expected to finish in April 2027, according to documents filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

The overview: The car wash will feature an automated tunnel car wash and vacuum stalls, the documents state.

Club Car Wash operates one other location in Denton on East University Drive, according to the company website.

Six Flags Over Texas 'Tormenta Rampaging Run' to now open July 9

Six Flags Over Texas has announced the new opening date for its first “giga dive coaster as July 9.

The new coaster was originally scheduled to open June 26, but was postponed because commissioning and test taking took longer than expected, per previous reporting.

The details: The Tormenta Rampaging Run reaches 309 feet above ground and has a 285-foot drop, according to the Six Flags website. Riders will be going at 87 miles-per-hour on a ride spanning more than four thousand feet.
