Voters will choose between two candidates for the Texas House District 70 position this Nov. 3 election.

What you need to know: Democratic incumbent Mihaela Plesa is running against Republican candidate George Flint. Texas House District 70’s representative serves residents in parts of Plano, north Dallas, Richardson and Allen.

1. Timberland: The store is now open at the Allen Premium Outlets, a company representative said. Timberland, which is located next to Bath & Body Works, sells shoes, clothing and outdoor essentials for men, women and children, a news release states.

Lite-On manufacturing facility in McKinney: Lite-On Technology Corp., a Taiwan-based manufacturing company that specializes in semiconductor components, is moving into an existing warehouse facility in McKinney, per a TDLR filing. The move will bring at least 600 jobs to the city, per previous reporting.

2. MRI Equipment Replacement at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center—Plano: Officials at the medical center officials are replacing its MRI equipment, per a TDLR filing. Equipment replacement is estimated to last four months.

For the first time in over a decade, there is no incumbent in the Texas attorney general's race as Republican Ken Paxton runs for U.S. Senate.

Democrat Nathan Johnson, a state senator from Dallas; Republican Mayes Middleton, a state senator from Galveston; and Libertarian Tom Oxford, an attorney from Nederland, are running to replace him this November. Community Impact asked the candidates for their perspectives on Texas' open records laws, state litigation and other topics.

How we got here: Johnson and Middleton each won their primary runoff elections in May, Community Impact reported, while Oxford was selected as the Texas Libertarian Party's candidate during an April nominating convention.

Looking ahead: Early voting in eight statewide races and dozens of local elections runs from Oct. 19-30. Election Day is Nov. 3.
