Cheesy Bite is serving up handcrafted pizzas and other comfort food favorites in Pflugerville with a menu that goes beyond traditional pies.

The neighborhood pizzeria opened in May 2023 and blends flavors of Italy and the Middle East with pizzas made with slow-risen dough, signature sauce, mozzarella, fresh vegetables and premium meats.

On the menu: Owner Mustak Prasla said the restaurant’s specialty is fusion pizzas, and its expansive menu features options such as chicken tikka, tandoori, chicken malai boti and chicken bihari. Beef pizzas include beef bihari, spicy kheema, Philly cheesesteak and barbecue meat lovers.

What’s special about it?: The dough at Cheesy Bite is made from scratch to ensure a soft yet crunchy texture, Prasla said.

“People love our dough. That's the main thing,” Prasla said. “The people like the crunchiness. It's a little soft and crunchy; it has both textures. With other places, after a certain time the dough is like rubber, but our pizza is never like that.”

An HTeaO is coming to Hutto, Mayor Mike Snyder confirmed in a Facebook post. 

The details: Snyder said the location will be off of FM 685, across from KFC.

The Texas-based beverage company originated in Amarillo and now has franchise locations statewide. HTeaO offers more than 20 flavors of sweet and unsweet iced tea, including options like Georgia peach, mango, coconut and mint. Customers can mix flavors to create their own tea blends. The store also serves coffee.

Two candidates will be on the ballot for Precinct 4 Williamson County commissioner, including Republican incumbent Russ Boles facing off against Democratic candidate Harmon Rhea.

Precinct 4 is the largest geographically of the Williamson County precincts, and includes most of Hutto, Taylor, Jarrell and Weir, as well as the eastern parts of Georgetown and Round Rock.

Early voting for the Nov. 3 election runs from Oct. 19-30.

Representatives from sporting goods store Scheels cut the ribbon on the company’s newest store in Cedar Park alongside local government and business leaders Aug. 25. The store will open to the public Aug. 29.

The details: Scheels is an employee-owned store that sells a wide variety of sports and outdoor equipment, clothing and more.

The Cedar Park location is the second in Texas and one of the largest retail spaces in the state, according to previous reporting by Community Impact.

In addition to shopping, visitors to the Cedar Park Scheels can ride a 65-foot indoor Ferris wheel, view roughly 600 fish in a 16,000-gallon saltwater aquarium, and visit a candy shop and a cafe.
