See how the Katy-Fulshear real estate market fared in May

Fewer homes were sold in Katy- and Fulshear-area ZIP codes in May compared to May 2025, with 725 homes sold versus 804 last year.

What you need to know: Three of the six local ZIP codes saw the number of homes sold grow year over year, with ZIP code 77450 seeing the largest increase at 35.59%. Home sales in ZIP code 77493 were the highest, with 251 homes sold.


Of the total 725 homes sold, homes in the $200,000-$399,999 price range were the greatest at 361.

The specifics: The median home sales price decreased in three of six ZIP codes year over year. ZIP code 77423 saw the largest year-over-year decrease at 20.46%. Alternatively, ZIP code 77441 saw the largest year-over-year increase at 10.1%.

What else: The average number of days homes spent on the market increased in four of six ZIP codes. Homes sold quickest in ZIP code 77094, with an average of 32 days on the market.

Aga's Restaurant & Catering to open first new location in 25 years in Katy

Aga’s Restaurant & Catering has set an opening date for its new takeout-only location at The Shoppes at Grand Crossing in Katy, officials announced in a June 18 news release.

The Katy location—dubbed Aga's To Go—will be the restaurant's first new location in 25 years.

What's on the menu: The Indian-Pakistani restaurant will offer a more concise menu than its flagship location at 11842 Wilcrest Drive, Houston, with items including lamb chops, kababs, boti, biryani, curries and freshly baked breads, per the release.

In their own words: “Many of our guests make a considerable drive to enjoy Aga’s, and we’re excited to bring our food closer to them while creating new opportunities for our team and our company," said Zain Maredia, Aga’s head of growth and strategy. "Katy has been one of our strongest customer bases for years, making it a natural next step as we continue to grow.”

Landry’s Seafood House now serving Gulf Coast cuisine in Hobby Airport

Landry’s Seafood House is now serving passengers near Gate 41 in William P. Hobby Airport, Houston Airport officials announced in a June 9 news release.

On the menu: The restaurant—which has both sit-down and bar seating—serves a variety of seafood options as well as steaks, sandwiches, salads, pasta and breakfast options, per the release. Guests can also enjoy a full bar with beer and cocktails.

Also of note: The new restaurant opening comes as the Houston area hosts the FIFA World Cup with an expected 4.5 million visitors across both Houston airports over the course of the tournament, Community Impact reported.

“Houston Airports is focused on creating a passenger experience that feels efficient, welcoming and distinctly Houston,” said Jim Szczesniak, director of aviation for Houston Airports. “Landry’s Seafood House gives Hobby Airport travelers a full-service dining option and a recognizable local connection as we prepare to welcome soccer fans from around the world.”

H-GAC names Chief Transportation Officer Ron Papsdorf as executive director

The Houston-Galveston Area Council has named Ron Papsdorf as its new executive director, officials announced in a June 16 news release. Papsdorf, who is currently serving as H-GAC’s chief transportation officer, will replace Chuck Wemple, who is retiring after eight years.

Diving in: In his current role, Papsdorf oversees transportation across the region and assists local governments in collaborating on transportation projects, per the release. Papsdorf previously served as a division director at the Denver Regional Council of Governments, where he led the Metropolitan Planning Organization.

“I am honored to be chosen by the H-GAC board to serve the region in this new role,” Papsdorf said in the release. “Our region is growing and changing rapidly, and I am eager to work with the board, our staff, our communities and our partners to make us the best region in the country to live, work and do business.”

Looking ahead: Papsdorf will begin his role as executive director July 13, per the release.
