Colleyville Crime Control Prevention District budget to fund equipment, vehicle purchases

The fiscal year 2026-27 budget for the Colleyville Crime Control and Prevention District will fund the replacement of police equipment and vehicles.

Council approved the district’s budget by a 5-0 vote during the July 7 meeting. Mayor Bobby Lindamood and council member Tim Raine were absent from the meeting.

The overview: The FY 2026-27 budget projects revenues of nearly $3.65 million and expenditures of $3.59 million. Colleyville’s Crime Control and Prevention District FY 2026-27 budget will cover 19 police officer positions and fund other staff positions, per city documents.

Additionally, Wreay said the FY 2026-27 budget will pay for the replacement of 51 tasers and two new motorcycles.

Quote of note: “The proposed [FY 2026-27] budget includes the new funding requests, while continuing to fund ongoing budget initiatives dedicated specifically to law enforcement,” Assistant Police Chief Hillary Wreay said. “This funding is an important component of our ability to maintain Colleyville’s status as one of the safest cities in Texas.”

McMullen's search for children clothes led to Tater Tot Boutique in Keller

Lindsey McMullen wanted more shopping options for clothes for her two children. That became the spark for Tater Tot Boutique & Upscale Consignment, a children's clothing and consignment store in Keller.

“I was sick of driving to Dallas or Fort Worth to find clothes,” said the mother of two kids, ages 8 and 4.

The overview: The name of the store came from her daughter’s nickname, McMullen said.

She said when she was looking to open her shop, she looked at several locations before settling on a space that was formerly a martial arts studio inside the Keller Town Center development.

Tater Tot Boutique sells clothes for newborns through children's sizes up to 12. McMullen said she leaned into styles that mix classic Southern looks with fun designs.

What else? McMullen, a Grapevine resident, is a lawyer. She says this business is a space where she can use her creativity.
