Prosper ISD will remain closed Thursday, Jan. 29 because of hazardous road conditions, according to a Jan. 28 announcement.

The details: The district has been closed Jan. 26-28 because of Winter Storm Fern, which brought snow, sleet and ice to the Dallas-Fort Worth area last weekend.

“We have had dozens of facilities team members working every day to clear sidewalks, doorways, driveways, and parking lots across all campuses,” the post stated. “However, the continued cold temperatures have simply not allowed the ice and snow to melt enough for safe passage.”
 

School districts continue to announce prolonged campus closures as roadways remain icy. Several Dallas-Fort Worth school districts announced continued closures for Jan. 29.

The details: As of Jan. 28, the following school districts and colleges have announced that they will be closed Thursday:

• Prosper ISD
• Celina ISD
• Denton ISD
• Frisco ISD
• McKinney ISD
