Kyle property taxes to increase $305 for average homeowner

Taxes are going up for Kyle residents.

The details: The city of Kyle approved the fiscal year 2025-26 proposed property tax rate of $0.5957 per $100 of taxable value—an increase of $0.1264 from the previous tax year, according to city documents.

The property tax rate will add about $305 annually for an average $315,422 home, the city stated in a news release.

What’s next: According to the Hays County website, the tax rate cannot be finalized until after the Nov. 4 election results are certified.

While property tax statements usually go out in October, they will be issued in mid-to-late November this year, according to a Hays County post on X.

Sprouts Farmers Market to open in Kyle Oct. 10

A new grocery store has planted roots at the northwest corner of Kohlers Crossing and FM 1626 in Kyle, offering additional shopping options for the community.

The new Sprouts Farmers Market will be the first in Hays County.

What to expect: Sprouts Farmers Market is an indoor grocery store focused on healthy living and inspired by traditional farmers markets.

It offers organic, gluten-free, plant-based, keto, paleo and nongenetically modified foods.

The local impact: The Shops at the Brick and Mortar District is an approximately 4.77-acre retail development. It includes three retail buildings with a total of 18,325 square feet, and an additional 23,256 square feet for Sprouts, Community Impact previous reported.

A new food truck park featuring pickleball courts, an off-leash dog park and a coffee trailer opened in East Austin in early September.


The bring-your-own-beverage hang out spot, known as Webberville District, is the latest concept by Union Venture Group.


The district is home to Mexican food truck Guac and Go and A Hole Coffee trailer. The coffee business takes orders at a walk-up trailer or receives orders virtually and delivers drinks through a hole in a cement wall.

Nana B’s Country Kitchen, owned by Victor Friar and Keysha Nichols-Friar, is now open in Round Rock.


The restaurant offers comfort food with dishes such as smash burgers, fried catfish, turkey legs, oxtails, wings, chili and more.
