St. David's Georgetown Hospital appoints new chief operating officer

Rachel Sloan assumed the role of chief operating officer of St. David’s Georgetown Hospital on June 1, according to a news release.

The overview: In the position, Sloan will support the growing community's needs. She will oversee daily operations, using her prior experience leading major health care facility modernization projects, per the release.

“I’m thrilled to serve alongside such a dedicated leadership team at St. David’s Georgetown Hospital,” Sloan said in the release. “I look forward to supporting the hospital’s mission of providing high-quality, compassionate care for those in the Georgetown community and beyond.”

The background: Sloan earned a bachelor's degree in business administration and management from Texas A&M University and a Master of Healthcare Administration from Trinity University in San Antonio, the release states.

She previously served as the vice president of operations at Parham Doctors’ Hospital in Richmond, Virginia. Additionally, she was an associate administrator at Methodist Hospital and Methodist Children’s Hospital in San Antonio. In 2024, Sloan joined St. David’s Medical Center as vice president of operations.

H-E-B plans store upgrades in Georgetown, Leander

H-E-B plans to upgrade two grocery stores in Georgetown and Leander, as part of its Fresh Initiative, which will renovate stores across Central Texas, according to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

Learn more: The upgrades to the locations on Ronald Reagan Boulevard and University Avenue will cost approximately $800,000 combined and will begin in August, according to the filing. Construction is expected to last about a month.

Other Texas H-E-B stores receiving upgrades include locations in San Antonio, New Braunfels, Houston and Austin.
