Kendall County population increases by 20.3% from 2020-2025

Between 2020 and 2025, Kendall County saw a 20.3% population increase, according to county-level data released by the U.S. Census Bureau in March.

Of this population increase, the majority of new residents are identified as domestic migrants, meaning the largest cause of population growth in the county is people moving in.

Breaking it down: Census data highlights population growth as of July 1 each year. In 2020, Kendall County had an estimated population of 44,568, increasing to an estimated 53,289 in 2025.

During the 2020-2025 period, the county's state population rank changed from 76 to 73. When comparing growth rate rankings, the county ranked 40th from 2020 to 2025.

In both annual and cumulative measurements, the natural population growth in the county decreased, meaning more county residents died than were born. Between 2024 and 2025, the census data indicated 475 deaths and 439 births.
