Locally owned acupuncture clinic serves area veterans in New Braunfels

Claudia Sandoval opened The Point Acupuncture and Dry Needling Clinic in late 2018 with one goal—to provide pain relief.

The clinic, located at 1423 N. Walnut Ave., Ste. 101, specializes in pelvic floor dysfunction and chronic pain treatment.

The specifics: Pelvic floor dysfunction is when there is an imbalance, such as muscle tightness, weakness or poor coordination, with the pelvic floor muscles.

“We can actually influence the way the muscles function to get you pain relief,” Sandoval said.

What’s special about it? The Point is the only area clinic contracted to provide acupuncture services for veterans through the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs. The contract is through the VA’s community care network, which helps offer veterans quality care outside the department, according to the VA’s website.

Sandoval said the business gets a lot of good reviews from veterans who visit the clinic from Cibolo, Schertz, Austin, Seguin and New Braunfels.
