See where home sales, prices are higher in The Woodlands area

According to data collected in December, more homes were sold in six out of the eight ZIP codes in The Woodlands area tracked by Community Impact in November 2025 compared to November 2024.

The details: The highest percentage increase, 52.38%, was in 77382, according to data from Christine Hale Realty Group. Fewer homes were sold in two ZIP codes.
 

What's changed: The median prices of homes were higher in four ZIP codes this November compared to November 2024. The highest increase, 47.89%, was in the 77386 ZIP code

Bamburger opens second location in Tomball

Bamburger officials confirmed the burger restaurant's second location in the north Houston area has officially opened.

What we know: The Spring-based eatery offers a variety of smash burgers in beef or chicken alongside items such as chicken tenders with fries and fires covered in cheese, jalapenos and bam sauce. The restaurant's first location sits along FM 2920 in Spring, with the second location along Kuykendahl Road in Tomball near The Woodlands.

Frontier Airlines announces new nonstop routes out of IAH to 3 Latin American countries

Frontier Airlines has added three new nonstop routes out of George Bush Intercontinental Airport, airline officials announced in a Dec. 18 news release.

The details: Per the release, the new nonstop routes include IAH to:

  • La Aurora International Airport in Guatemala City, Guatemala, beginning Dec. 18
  • El Salvador International Airport in Comalapa, El Salvador, beginning Dec. 19
  • Ramón Villeda Morales International Airport in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, beginning Dec. 20

Jim Szczesniak, director of aviation for Houston Airports System, said the expanded offerings at IAH should help travel in and out of the Houston area as the 2026 FIFA World Cup nears.

Also of note: In celebration of the new routes, Frontier Airlines will be offering reduced fares for trips out of IAH to the following destinations:
  • Guatemala: $49
  • El Salvador: $59
  • Honduras: $49

Tickets must be purchased by 11:59 p.m. Eastern time Dec. 30. Sale fares are valid for nonstop travel on select days of the week from Jan. 5-April 13, 2026, per the release.

Where to drop off used Christmas trees in Houston

As the holidays come to an end, there are several entities offering Christmas tree recycling and disposal drop-offs around the Greater Houston area. This list is not comprehensive.

The details
City of Bellaire: Bellaire will accept Christmas tree drop-offs Dec. 26-Jan. 12 at 4401 Edith St.

City of Houston: Houston residents can recycle trees at one of the city's 20 drop-off locations Dec. 26-Jan. 23.

City of Pearland: Residents in Pearland can drop their live Christmas trees off between Dec. 26 and Jan. 17 at the Stella Roberts Recycling Center.

San Jacinto River Authority: The San Jacinto River Authority will collect undecorated, live Christmas trees through Jan. 31.

City of West University Place: In West University Place, live trees will be collected Dec. 26-Jan. 9.

The Woodlands Township: Green Christmas trees will be collected curbside on regular service days.

City of Sugar Land: Live Christmas trees without ornaments and lights can be set out curbside for green waste pickup in Sugar Land.

Check out these new restaurants and bars opening across the Houston area.

Candente opened a location in Bellarie on Dec. 22. Owner Michael Sambrooks said in a Dec. 22 news release that the new location represents a commitment to the expansion of his two brands—Candente and The Pit Room—at the top of the culinary game in the Houston restaurant scene.

According to the release, the restaurant's menu is identical to Montrose's, with customer favorites such as the house nachos, chile con queso, tortilla soup, Frito pie and ceviche, as well as birria tacos, chile gravy enchiladas and carne guisada.

Golden Roastery officials said the roastery opened a second location in the Spring-Klein area on Nov. 15. The roastery has an additional location in the south Houston area.

The cafe offers Arab and Turkish sweets including roasted nuts, halal gummies, chocolates, coffee and Palestinian delights. The Middle Eastern roastery offers both in-store services and a dining area available to enjoy its Palestinian delights.
