The city of Frisco will hold a grand opening celebration for Fourth Street Plaza Oct. 13.

The details: Fourth Street Plaza is part of the more than $80 million Downtown Rail District Redevelopment project. The Fourth Street Plaza was originally scheduled to open in time for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, but city officials said completing construction on Main Street and opening the downtown parking garage put it behind schedule.

City officials said the park is open to the public, but furniture still needs to be installed.

What's on the menu: The 2,000 square-foot restaurant was founded by local entrepreneur Jasin Burt, featuring an open kitchen and dishes like double- and triple-patty smashburgers, appetizers like fried pickles, salads, boozy milkshakes and a focused craft cocktail program. 

“We’re grateful for this community and can’t wait to feed you,” founding general manager Eric Sagal said in a social media post.

Republican incumbent Mitch Little will run against Democratic candidate Detrick DeBurr for the U.S. House of Representatives District 65 seat in the Nov. 3 election.
