Nonprofit clinic CommonGood Medical to relocate, launch CommonGood Thrift store in McKinney

As the organization approaches its 10th year of operations, CommonGood Medical is relocating to a larger clinic space, adding services and launching a thrift store within McKinney.

CommonGood Medical Director of Development Daniel Moreno said the changes will support the organization’s sustainability while also accommodating growing demand for the clinic’s services.

Diving in deeper: The new clinic space, which is slated to open in fall 2026, spans about 9,000 square feet. The clinic will open with the first phase of build-out completed, which will include six exam rooms. 

Also of note: CommonGood Thrift, the social enterprise arm of the nonprofit organization, is set to launch in McKinney later this year. Donations for the thrift store, which will be located in McKinney, are now being accepted

Quote of note: “We are all surrounded by a central mission of providing accessibility to individuals that, to be frank, just don't have that kind of accessibility in Collin County,” Moreno said of the health care services offered at the clinic. “There's a gap, and we fill that gap.”

BasePoint BreakThrough to offer mental health care for young adults in McKinney

BasePoint, a Texas-based behavioral health organization that specializes in teen and young adult mental as well as dual-diagnosis treatment, is set to open a location in McKinney.

The gist: BasePoint BreakThrough offers mental health care services for individuals ages 18-35, a news release states. BasePoint BreakThrough provides evidence-based treatment for mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, ADHD and more, paired with guidance on practical skill-building for confidence, emotional regulation, executive functioning and more.

Dallas Fort Worth International Airport opens 9 new gates in Terminal C

Dallas Fort Worth International Airport officials held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on June 8 to open nine new gates in Terminal C.

The project included five rebuilt gates and four new gates, which will be utilized by American Airlines, according to a news release from DFW Airport.

The work is part of the DFW Forward projects, a $12 billion capital improvement program that is renovating and expanding the airport that opened in 1974.

The details: The new Terminal C pier features nine electronic boarding gates equipped with industry-leading technology, and elevates the customer experience with new concessions, seating, and restrooms, according to a news release from American Airlines.

Going forward: Work on Terminals A and F is still ongoing, according to an airport news release.

Terminal F, which will be the sixth terminal at DFW Airport, will add 31 gates for American Airlines. A pier-style expansion is coming to Terminal A and will add 10 more gates.
