Oak Ridge North swears in new police chief

Oak Ridge North City Council on Feb. 9 swore in new Chief of Police Marcus Teske, who was named to the position Jan. 26.

In a nutshell: Teske brings more than 20 years of service with the city of Oak Ridge North Police Department, having served in multiple leadership and operational roles throughout his career, according to the city.

Quote of note: “I have gotten to see him serve with consistency, professionalism and integrity. He understands the department, he has institutional knowledge of the department and citizens,” City Administrator Heather Neeley said at the Feb. 9 meeting.

Milkshake Factory announces March opening for The Woodlands

MilkShake Factory will open its location in The Woodlands in late March, franchise owner Kent J. Schultz said.

Interfaith Community Clinic partnering with Compassion United to provide medical care in Montgomery County

Interfaith Community Clinic is partnering with Compassion United to expand medical services for those in need, according to a Feb. 6 news release.

Some context: Interfaith Community Clinic is a clinic that serves all of Montgomery County, and Compassion United is a nonprofit that serves homeless people in Montgomery County.

What’s happening: Through this partnership, Interfaith Community Clinic will provide medical services at Compassion United every Thursday from 8:30 a.m.-noon, according to the news release. Services will include primary care and patient support for those who are uninsured.

Enjoy two days of Lunar New Year festivities at the Children's Museum Houston. On Feb. 14, entertainment will begin at 11 a.m. and include a traditional lion dance; a Diabolo, Chinese yo-yo, performance; and a contemporary Chinese dance show. On Feb. 15, at noon, a traditional Chinese dance will take place.
