Several locations throughout the Fulshear community are set to undergo renovations and see new construction in the coming months.

These projects were registered in the last eight months in the area with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. All information, including costs and timelines, is subject to change.

Yark Green Thai Restaurant opens off Mercantile Parkway

Yark Green Thai Restaurant held a soft opening in December.

What they offer: Rooted in family recipes and a passion for authentic flavors, Yark Green serves Thai rice, curry and noodle dishes, as well as desserts such as mango sweet rice, coconut pandan roll cake and fried ice cream. 

Also of note: Additionally, the interior of the restaurant is decorated with warm wood tones, earthy colors and greenery to reflect a peaceful oasis.

Jason's Deli celebrates 50th anniversary in 2026

Fast-casual eatery Jason's Deli is celebrating its 50th anniversary by honoring the fresh food, people and communities that have defined the restaurant, officials announced in a Dec. 30 news release.

The background: The deli was founded in 1976 by Joe Tortorice Jr. in Beaumont and has since branched out to 114 Texas locations and 235 delis nationwide in 27 states, per the release.

What's new: According to the release, the eatery is celebrating its anniversary by spotlighting new soups during the National Soup Month of January, while also rolling out new items, including the Deli-Bration Cookie—a sugar cookie topped with sprinkles—and returning others.

In their own words: “Our 50th anniversary is about staying true to what’s made Jason’s Deli special since day one—thoughtfully prepared dishes, diverse selections and genuine care for the people we serve,” Clare Wilson, vice president of culinary and R&D at Jason’s Deli, said in the release.

6 transportation projects that could impact commutes across the Greater Houston area

Six major roadway projects are being planned, are underway or will kick off soon across the Greater Houston area.

Upcoming projects
1. Mykawa Road widening
Project: Construction on Mykawa Road will consist of roughly 3 miles of a four-lane divided boulevard with storm drainage, signals, lighting, landscaping and a 10-foot shared-use path, among other features.
Update: 90% of design submittals have been received and are being reviewed by Pearland city staff and the Texas Department of Transportation. TxDOT is bidding, constructing and managing the project.

  • Timeline: construction slated to start in 2028 with a completion in 2030
  • Cost: $21.4 million

2. 
Lake Woodlands Drive at Gosling Road intersection improvements
Project: The project will extend turn lanes from eastbound Lake Woodlands Drive onto northbound Gosling Road. It will also extend turn lanes from westbound Lake Woodlands Drive onto southbound Gosling Road.
Update: Engineering design was complete in early December and utility coordination was ongoing, Montgomery County Precinct 3 officials said.
  • Timeline: Construction will begin in early 2026.
  • Cost: $40,000 (design)

The overview: As Community Impact enters its third decade, it’s returning to its roots of growth and deeper reader connections. The “Patron” program, which began in 2020 by reader demand, has relaunched as InCIder.

“This relaunch represents our renewed commitment to readers who support our local news,” CEO John Garrett said. “Beyond funding great journalism, we also want to reward our InCIders and build deeper connections with them, creating a true sense of community around the work we do.”

Event details: As part of the new program, Community Impact is hosting InCIder Hours across the state, events designed to celebrate and engage the company’s top supporters.

Houston’s first InCIder Hour will take place from 5:30-7 p.m. Jan. 21 at Community Impact’s Houston headquarters, 16300 Northwest Freeway, Jersey Village.

Guests will have the opportunity to network with fellow InCIders, meet Community Impact staff and attend a moderated real estate-focused panel.
