Water and wastewater base charges for Colleyville residents and businesses will increase Oct. 1.

Council approved the increases to the base rate, which helps meet the operating costs of the city’s utility fund, during the Sept. 15 meeting.

What you need to know: The base rate increases for customers vary based on the size of a customer’s water meter. Per city documents, the new base charges that take effect in October include:

• $20.72 per month for a 1-inch meter

• $41.44 per month for a 1.5-inch meter

• $66.31 per month for a 2-inch meter

• $124.33 per month for a 3-inch meter

• $207.21 per month for a 4-inch meter

The new monthly wastewater base charge is a $2.59 increase for both residential and commercial customers. The base charge for residential customers will be $18.08 per month, a 16.7% increase from $15.49 and commercial customers’ charge will be $24.08, a 12.1% increase from $21.49.

Looking ahead: New volumetric rates from the Trinity River Authority will take effect Jan. 1, 2027.

Ambulatory EEG provider, NeuroSync Diagnostics, has opened in Colleyville to provide better remote brain scanning and monitoring services for A&B Neurology.

What’s new: Neurologist Dr. Babak Rezaei founded both businesses and said not having to outsource for remote scans will help patients receive better care.

“Other companies get their pay no matter what they do but this way we are actually responsible,” Rezaei said. “So we actually interact with them and there's much better service to the clients and patients.”

What they offer: Remote EEG testing involves a patient wearing electrodes for 48-96 hours so that brain data can be recorded over a longer period of time in different environments and this can lead to a better chance of correct diagnosis.

Texas Woman’s University saw an overall increase in enrollment for the fall 2026 semester compared to the fall 2025 semester, and the University of North Texas experienced an increase in new freshmen and transfer students in that same time period.

The impact: TWU experienced an overall 5.9% increase in student enrollment to 16,412 students, which is its second-highest enrollment ever, according to a release from the university. The highest enrollment in university history was 16,441 in 2020.

UNT reported that 42,016 students were enrolled this semester, including 6,388 freshmen and 3,434 new transfer students, according to a news release from the university. This is an overall 9.57% increase from fall 2025.

Zooming in: UNT also saw an increase in campus enrollment at its Frisco location with 3,377 students enrolled in courses, a record number for that campus, according to a news release.

The total number of UNT students is a decrease from 43,567 in fall 2025, mostly due to a loss of more than 1,300 international students, according to previous reporting.

The total enrollment at TWU for the fall 2025 semester was 15,424, according to the university’s website.
