Keller ISD and Northwest ISD opened enrollment for qualifying families to apply for free or reduced-price school meals, according to releases from both districts.

The overview: Both school districts offer healthy breakfast and lunch meals and for families that qualify for free or reduced meals.

The criteria for free and reduced-price meal options are:

• Household income at or below the eligibility level
• Household uses Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF); or Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR)
• A student is a foster child, homeless, runaway, migrant or is displaced by a declared disaster
• A student is enrolled in Head Start or Even Start, which are federal education initiatives designed to assist low-income families

AllianceTexas is now home to Foxlink Group’s first North American manufacturing facility.

The Taiwanese company will bring its advanced technology manufacturing to Alliance Gateway 17 in Fort Worth.

What’s happening? The 147,780-square-foot facility will be a printed circuit board assembly, or PCBA, operation for the company, according to a news release.

Production is expected to begin in August and the company is expected to create 900 jobs at full capacity. The building is designed for long-term scalability and serves as a replicable model for Foxlink’s AI factory deployments for its global manufacturing network, the release states.

Foxlink’s surface mount technology and final assembly, testing and packaging production processes will integrate AI-driven robotics in the AllianceTexas plant.

Harry Potter has been confirmed as the theme for the 2026 ice! experience at the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center in Grapevine.

The display will feature 10 different scenes inspired by the wizarding world and will use 2 million pounds of ice to create the sculptures and scenes within the resort, according to the website. Each theme also features two-story ice slides and passageways throughout the experience.

The details: This year’s ice! runs from Nov. 13-Jan. 3, 2027, according to a news release. Tickets for the event are available starting at $33.32.

The experience, which is inspired by the Harbin Ice Festival in China, uses more than 300 Harbin-based artisans to create the sculptures, the news release states. The artisans spend about 40 days hand carving 60,000 ice blocks.

On-site, the experience is kept at 9 degrees Fahrenheit to preserve the ice sculptures.

1. Pershing Drive utilities and roadway replacement
Project: Pershing Drive in Denton is receiving new water and wastewater lines, new roadway and portions of the sidewalk are being replaced. Denton voters approved the project as part of the Neighborhood 1B bond package.
Update: Crews are working to replace the driveway, curb and gutter with final paving to follow.
