RISD to implement campus improvement plans, targeted strategies for 2026-27

Richardson ISD is set to adopt campus improvement plans for all 49 schools in the district, including targeted plans at schools identified as needing additional support. The board of trustees discussed the district’s campus improvement plans at the Oct. 15 meeting and is set to officially approve the plans in November.

The overview: Eight campuses will be required to develop Turnaround Plans or Targeted Improvement Plans that incorporate additional strategies, support and resources to improve outcomes at those schools.

Quote of note: “[Campus improvement plans are] individualized so that the campus feels like they’re not just implementing what the district is telling them to implement,” Superintendent Tabitha Branum said. “They’re implementing what they know based upon what their teachers and their students need.”

Serenity Mental Health Centers opens Richardson clinic

A new Serenity Mental Health Centers clinic began taking patients.

What they offer: The clinic offers psychiatry, medication management, TMS therapy, ketamine infusion therapy and ADHD testing and management, according to a news release. The Richardson clinic's primary provider is Rebecca Daniel, a psychiatric nurse practitioner, who works alongside a team of TMS technicians and behavioral health staff.

What they're saying: Tricia Pease, Serenity’s chief operating officer, said the Richardson clinic should help reduce commuting times for patients who may have been visiting the company’s other facilities in Frisco or Dallas.

“It's going to be great for some of our patients to have a clinic closer to them, as well as for people in that local area who maybe haven't been able to hear about us to get access,” Pease said.
