Watts Plantation Road renaming: Missouri City is renaming Watts Plantation Road to Henry Watts Road to remain consistent with the new extension from Sienna Parkway to Knight Road, and from Shipmans Cove Boulevard to North Creekmont Drive.
  • Timeline: scheduled to be implemented by the end of March
  • Cost: $3,000 for road signs
  • Funding source: city of Missouri City

Artificial intelligence-based traffic detection system: The project will install an artificial intelligence-based traffic detection system tool along the Hwy. 6 corridor, aimed at monitoring traffic conditions and improving traffic signal timing.
  • Timeline: completion expected in April
  • Cost: $619,500

Comfort Foodies to open 2nd location in Missouri City

Comfort Foodies, a Latin Caribbean soul food fusion restaurant, is set to open a second location in Missouri City, officials confirmed.

On the menu: The restaurant features Dominican and southern menu items including oxtails, pork chops, catfish wings and empanadas, according to its website.

Zooming out: The new location will join its existing restaurant at 8128 N. Sam Houston Parkway W., Ste. B in Houston, per the website.
