There are several events happening in The Woodlands on July 9-12 including Rock the Row and concerts at Dosey Doe-The Big Barn. 

Rock the Row
Outdoor Concert Series, Rock the Row is returning this summer for its summer lineup. The series will include live music such as Latin, soul, Motown, and funk and pop hits. The concert will begin with a performance by Leslie Lugo with Latin and variety music.

Hourani's Barbershop plans new location in The Woodlands

Hourani’s Barbershop is coming soon to The Woodlands area. It started construction in May, owner Karim Hourani said.

The gist: The barbershop offers hair and grooming services as well as specialized grooming and additional personal care, according to its website.

Christian Youth Theater Houston celebrates 20 years of musical theater education

On June 20, Christian Youth Theater Houston celebrated its 20th season with a red carpet event, Community Engagement Director Mary Ramsower confirmed. The fine arts company’s first summer camps were held in 2006, and it has since provided the Greater Houston area with musical theater education for two decades. Classes are hosted at various locations around the Greater Houston area such as Spring and The Woodlands

The background: CYT is a national after-school theater arts training program dedicated to helping kids and teens grow in their singing, dancing, acting, improvisation and technical skills.

Offered in two-hour classes throughout the school year, students can receive individualized training from instructors in the discipline of their choosing, according to the company’s website.

Another detail: With branches nationwide, CYT allows enrolled students ages 8-18 to audition for productions.

Looking ahead: Tickets for CYT Houston’s Aug. 7-16 production of “The Wizard of Oz” at The Crighton Theatre went on sale early June. Patrons can visit the website to secure their seats, as well as find out more information regarding showtimes, pricing and the venue’s address.

IAH to receive over $62.26M for runway rehab

George Bush Intercontinental Airport will receive more than $62.26 million in Federal Aviation Administration grants to reconstruct runways, according to a July 2 news release from the U.S. Department of Transportation.

The details: The IAH investment is part of a $1.776 billion total investment in U.S. airports by the Federal Aviation Administration intended to support runway rehabilitations, family-friendly enhancements and safety upgrades.
