Friendswood ISD earns ‘A’ in state accountability rating, reviews student outcome goals

Friendswood ISD board of trustees reviewed the district's 2025-26 state accountability scores at its Oct. 26 workshop, including progress toward goals to improve student academic growth.

Some context: Based on FISD’s score of a 92, the district previously outlined a goal to increase academic growth and relative performance scores by two letter grades at each campus and districtwide by the end of the 2025-26 school year, district documents show.

Both measures fall under the school progress category and track how much students improve academically and how campuses perform compared with similar schools, documents show.

Diving in deeper: For academic growth, the district maintained a score of 80 for both the 2024-25 school year and the 2025-26 school year, documents show. The district's relative performance score, which compares schools with similar economically disadvantaged student populations, increased from 73 to 74 for the 2025-26 school year.
