Baldinucci Pizza Romana’s flagship location is currently closed for renovations. The restaurant temporarily shuttered on Aug. 10, according to a news release. 

The newly-renovated location is slated to reopen in November, expanding the dining room from 12 seats to 54 seats. 

Something to note: Fans of the Italian spot can visit the restaurant’s new location in Domain Northside, which opened on Aug. 17.

On the menu: At Baldinucci, patrons can grab pizza by the slice, including options like margherita, sausage and honey, chicken parmesan and fig and arugula. 

Baldinucci Pizza Romana also offers house, caesar and greek salads, New York hero sandwiches and small dishes, including meatball parmigiana. For dessert, customers can find New York cheesecake with a strawberry compote, limoncello mascarpone cake, and cannolis.

Homeowners in Lake Travis ISD may still see higher tax bills despite the board of trustees adopting a lower rate at an Aug. 19 meeting.

The overview: The LTISD board of trustees adopted a rate of $1.0329 per $100 of valuation, a slight decrease from the previous rate of $1.0397.

The total rate includes a maintenance and operations rate of $0.7054 per $100 of valuation and an interest and sinking rate of $0.3275.

Maintenance and operations tax revenue funds daily operations, such as teacher salaries, and is subject to recapture. Interest and sinking taxes pay for bond debt and are not subject to recapture. LTISD has not adjusted the I&S rate since 2020.

The details: The new tax rate, though lower than fiscal year 2025-26, will generate more revenue for the district. According to LTISD documents, the tax rate that would generate the same amount of revenue as the previous fiscal year is $1.0113. This is partially due to increased property values in the area.

Texas voters will choose from Republican Bo French, Libertarian Arthur DiBianca and Democrat Jon Rosenthal in this November's Texas Railroad Commission race.

The details: The winner of the race will be sworn in to replace incumbent Commissioner Jim Wright in January.

French beat Wright in a May Republican primary runoff, advancing to the general election. Rosenthal ran uncontested in the March Democratic primary, while DiBianca was selected as the Texas Libertarian Party's candidate during an April nominating convention.

Did you know? The three-member railroad commission does not have any jurisdiction over the state's railroads—that authority was transferred to the Texas Department of Transportation and the federal government by 2005, according to the commission's website. Instead, the agency regulates Texas' oil and gas industries.
