Two logistics companies with connections to the Amazon fulfillment warehouse in Roanoke announced layoffs in September and October.

The details: Eagles Delivery LLC announced that 115 employees were laid off Sept. 12 after filing the notice Sept. 8. The company has an address in Southlake, according to the U.S. Department of Transportation. 

Dylan Logistics LLC will lay off 70 employees Oct. 12. The notice for that change was filed Aug. 11, according to the WARN filing. The Highland Village-based Dylan Logistics will also lay off 97 employees at an Amazon location at 1303 Ridgeview Drive in Lewisville.

Studio One Dance Center celebrated its 20th anniversary in north Fort Worth on Aug. 6.

The gist: Owner and director Jennifer Brast offers classes in ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, musical theatre, hip hop, tumbling, pointe and fine arts preschool.  

“For 20 years, we’ve worked to serve our community well, create a place where students and families feel loved and supported and provide a safe environment where students can grow,” she said. “At the end of the day, it’s about loving God, loving people, loving dance and faithfully showing up for our community year after year.”

Yard signs and T-shirts were distributed to current families as part of the celebration. Brast said that the first 20 new dancers who register with Studio One Dance Center would receive a free recital costume.

Denton County voters will choose between two candidates for the Denton County Commissioners Court, Precinct 4 seat, which will be on the Nov. 3 general election ballot.

What you need to know: The candidates running for the position are Stephanie Draper and David Wylie. In the March Republican primary election, Wylie won the race against three other candidates, including incumbent Dianne Edmondson, according to previous reporting. Draper was unopposed in the Democratic primary election.

What else? Oct. 5 is the last day for residents to register to vote, according to the Texas Secretary of State website. Early voting will take place from Oct. 19-30.
