Kingsbrook Lane will see improvements as the road reaches the end of its useful life. 

What you need to know: At an Oct. 19 meeting, Missouri City City Council approved a $1.59 million construction contract with ARS Construction LLC for the reconstruction of Kingsbrook Lane from Cartwright Road to Cypress Point Drive. 

The reconstruction will repave the road and sidewalks as well as replace water lines, according to agenda documents.

Stay tuned: Construction is set to begin in the fourth quarter of 2026 and is anticipated to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2027, per agenda documents.

Banana Ball, a fast-paced and fan-first version of baseball, is set to return to Constellation Field on March 12-13.

The big picture: The Sugar Land event will feature the Texas Tailgaters and the Loco Beach Coconuts, Sugar Land Space Cowboys officials announced in an Oct. 15 news release.

The announcement comes after a set of sellout nights at Constellation Field in August.

How it works: Those interested in purchasing tickets should join the online ticket lottery, which is open through Oct. 31 at 10:59 p.m., per the release. However, joining the lottery does not guarantee the opportunity to buy tickets; instead, a random drawing will take place.

Also of note: Fans can guarantee admission to the games by purchasing tickets within premium hospitality spaces and suites through the Sugar Land Space Cowboys, per the release.

Fort Bend County residents will choose between incumbent Bill Rickert and Jeffrey L. Boney for treasurer in the Nov. 3 election.

American Express announced plans on Oct. 8 to expand and renovate its existing Centurion Lounge at George Bush Intercontinental Airport.

The details: The project will nearly triple the lounge's current space from 8,000 square feet to 23,000 square feet and is expected to be complete by 2028.

Upgrades at the Houston airport lounge will include:

• A new Blue Roast by American Express Coffee and Wellness Bar

• A specialty dining area with rotating plated dishes and a signature buffet

• A second full-service bar with craft cocktails and a curated wine selection

• Refreshed restrooms, premium shower suites and various seating areas

Some context: This expansion is part of a larger investment by American Express. The company also plans to expand and upgrade its lounge at Philadelphia International Airport, open a new lounge at Newark Liberty Airport and open a second lounge at London Heathrow Airport.
