While Georgetown ISD overall saw a four-point improvement that bumped the district up to a “B” on the Texas Education Agency’s 2025-26 accountability ratings, two campuses received “unacceptable” grades.

Annie Purl Elementary School received its fourth consecutive "unacceptable" grade with a score of 67, while George Wagner Middle School dropped by five points from the previous year with a score of 69.

The local impact: GISD’s overall state ratings have improved by four points from the previous year’s 76 to 80, bumping the district up to a “B” rating. That increase puts GISD among the 24% of districts statewide that increased their scores from the previous school year.

Of the district’s 18 campuses graded under the TEA’s A-F ratings, 13 campuses had improved ratings this year while two campuses maintained their previous year’s score.

Annie Purl Elementary School and George Wagner Middle School were the district’s only campuses that earned an "unacceptable rating.” Any campus that receives an “unacceptable” rating must create a board-approved improvement plan, according to an Aug. 13 release by the TEA.
