Nonprofit organization Grapevine-Colleyville Education Foundation distributed roughly $91,000 in grant money to 26 Grapevine-Colleyville ISD teachers to fund classroom projects, according to a Dec. 12 news release from the foundation.
Local businesses and community members donated the money to the foundation.
“We are giving out much needed money for our school district, delivering over $90,000 thanks to the generosity of this community,” GCEF Executive Director Meredith Martin said in the release.
The details: Some of the funded projects include $5,000 to add modern science and technology material to Timberline Elementary School’s library and $2,500 to purchase equipment for Grapevine High School’s forensics program.
Other grant projects include:
- $115 to purchase headphones for emergent bilingual students at Heritage Middle School
- $1,780 for pre-reading and music skills at Silver Lake Elementary School
- $2,000 for the district’s academic decathlon program
One more thing: In the 2024-25 school year, GCEF distributed about $43,000 in grants, according to the organization's website.
