North Texas Performing Arts to leave The Shops at Willow Bend in 2026

North Texas Performing Arts is looking for a new home as it prepares to leave The Shops at Willow Bend.

What’s happening: The organization was informed last month that it was “going to need to vacate the mall within the year,” according to NTPA’s website.

The Willow Bend Center of the Arts was built nearly 10 years ago and features two mainstage theaters, two blackbox theaters, dance and rehearsal studios, and more.

Some context: The city of Plano confirmed in a Feb. 27 statement that the city has been in “earnest discussions” with the Dallas Stars of the National Hockey League regarding a potential arena district at The Shops at Willow Bend.

The specifics: The new restaurant opened on Jan. 16, according to a social media post from Grill N Crust. The restaurant serves a selection of specialty pizzas, chicken wings, fajitas and more.

Hershey to grow with $2.85M expansion project in Frisco

The Hershey Company will undergo a $2.85M office space expansion project in Frisco. The company’s office is located on the 12th floor of The Tower at Hall Park in Frisco.

Quote of note: “We are expanding our existing office space in Dallas as part of our ongoing strategy to support key business initiatives and attract top talent,” a company representative said. “The expansion will increase capacity from 20 to approximately 65 employees by September.”

Retail pavilion at Omni PGA Frisco, office development in Southlake: See 5 of the latest permits filed in the DFW area

New retail space in Frisco and mixed-use development in Southlake are some of the many new North Texas projects filed recently with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. Here are five of the most expensive permits filed with TDLR in the past week.

1. O’Reilly Auto Parts warehouse shuttle system: An automated storage and retrieval shuttle system is under construction for a new O’Reilly Auto Parts warehouse in north Fort Worth, according to a recent TDLR filing. The shuttle system will include three separate rack structures and a mezzanine with a catwalk. Construction is estimated to take a little under two years.

2. Retail pavilion at Omni PGA Frisco Resort & Spa: A new retail pavilion will be constructed within an existing retail district at the Omni PGA resort and spa in Frisco, according to a recent TDLR filing. The resort had its grand opening in 2023, per previous reporting. The 15,200-square-foot development is estimated to take less than a year to complete.
