Baylor Scott & White Medical Center-Lakeway marks 10 years of community care

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center-Lakeway is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, marking a decade of planting roots in one of the region's fastest-growing areas, hospital president Philippe Bochaton said.

The hospital opened in 2016 and has grown to nearly 500 employees, with specialties added over the years including cardiology, neurology and gastroenterology. Being part of the larger Baylor Scott & White system, Bochaton said, has given the Lakeway campus access to resources and technology it otherwise wouldn't have.

Giving back: As a nonprofit, BSW Lakeway also offers charity care and financial assistance programs for qualifying patients and has built partnerships with Lake Travis ISD and local organizations throughout its first decade.

What's next: Bochaton, who has been with the hospital since it opened, says the next decade is about meeting patients where they are. That includes both at home and walk-in care at all hours and utilizing technology to achieve earlier detection, better outcomes and expanded care.
