MOD Pizza marks 5 years in Valley Ranch Town Center

On Oct. 13, MOD Pizza will mark 5 years since opening in Valley Ranch Town Center, a spokesperson for Valley Ranch’s developer, The Signorelli Co., said via email Oct. 6. This pizza shop originally opened in 2020.

On the menu: MOD Pizza offers customizable pizzas and salads, with an array of toppings, sauces and cheeses, according to the company’s website. The company was founded in Seattle in 2008 and has locations across the U.S.

DATA: See how the New Caney, Porter housing market fared in September

Across the two ZIP codes that make up Community Impact's New Caney-Porter coverage area, data for September 2025 compared to September 2024 shows: 

  • Approximately three more homes sold. 
  • The median price of homes sold decreased slightly in New Caney and increased slightly in Porter. 
  • On average, homes stayed on the market for longer across both ZIP codes. 
  • Nearly 79% of homes sold were in the $200,000-$399,999 price range.

Montgomery County district attorney resigns to run for state Senate

Montgomery County District Attorney Brett Ligon resigned from his position on Oct. 2 to run for state Senate District 4 in 2026.

The details: The State senate seat was held by Brandon Creighton, R-Conroe, who resigned on Oct. 2 to be Texas Tech University System’s next chancellor and chief executive officer.

Senate District 4 represents all of Chambers County, a large portion of Montgomery and parts of Jefferson, Harris and Galveston counties, serving a total population of 954,803 people, according to the 2020 census.

What’s next: Ligon will continue to serve as the DA until Abbott appoints his successor, according to the state constitution.

First Assistant District Attorney Mike Holley has submitted his application to be the next district attorney; however, the governor has yet to announce a timeline for a replacement to serve Montgomery County.
