Sky Zone to hold grand opening in Cypress

Per a Sky Zone email the trampoline entertainment center’s new location on Copperfield has plans to hold its grand opening on Jan. 17.

The details: A SkyZone employee confirmed the new Copperfield location opened its doors in December and has plans to hold its grand opening event on Jan. 17 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

Per the website, during the grand opening attendees can expect games, contests, raffles, giveaways, and a live DJ. In addition, attendees can enjoy 120 minutes of jumping for $10.

What they offer: With over 100 locations Sky Zone offers wall-to-wall trampolines, action-packed attractions and glow jump sessions for kids and teens. In addition, Sky Zone offers birthday party packages that include private party areas, party invitation and supplies. Per previous Community Impact reporting Sky Zone has an additional location coming soon to The Woodlands area.

Cypress bar Edgy's Pub now open at Copper Grove shopping center

Edgy's Pub is a neighborhood bar and grill now open in Northwest Houston. 

The event: Bar and grill officials announced on social media Jan. 5 they would have a grand opening party featuring live music and drink specials.

The details: The bar is located at the Copper Grove Shopping Center on the corner of Hwy. 6 N. and Huffmeister Road. Guests have indoor and outdoor options such as an outdoor patio, major sporting games on TVs, as well as a pool table and darts.

Voters in Texas House of Representatives District 126 will have the opportunity to vote for a representative in March. The incumbent, Rep. Sam Harless, R-Spring, announced his retirement by the end of his term in 2027. Harless has held his seat since Jan. 8, 2019.

What you need to know: District 126 covers parts of Harris County, including Cypress, Spring, Fairbanks and Jersey Village, according to a map of the district.

Early voting begins Feb. 17, and election day is March 3.

Candidates were asked to keep responses within 50 words, answer the questions provided and avoid attacking opponents. Answers may have been edited or cut to adhere to those guidelines, or for style and clarity.

Rodeo Houston to hold January job fair for part-time event staff

Recruiters from the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo will host a job fair Jan. 24 to hire for a variety of seasonal roles for the upcoming 2026 rodeo.

The overview: Rodeo staff as well as representatives from ASM Global, Amarak and Safe Management are hiring for part-time positions, including concessions, cashiers, bartenders, waitstaff, event staff and security, per a Jan. 13 news release.

What you need to know: Candidates must be 18 years or older to participate in the Jan. 24 job fair, which will run from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at NRG Stadium, according to the release. Interested applicants are encouraged to review available positions and apply online before attending the fair.

Additionally, American Medical Response is hiring paramedics and emergency personnel to work the rodeo events, and the rodeo's carnival partner, RCS, is recruiting game and carnival ride attendants, per the release.
