Colombian coffee, boba tea: Check out the newest beverage spots in Cy-Fair

A number of new coffee, tea and specialty beverage shops have opened or announced plans to open across the Cypress-Fairbanks area. Here is the latest information on some of the newer shops in the area.

Latin-owned, Eden Coffee & Tea now open Jersey Village
Eden Coffee & Tea serves specialty drinks made with homemade syrups and small bites made in-house. Per previous Community Impact reporting, the coffee shop also offers espresso-based drinks including flavored lattes, cold brews, teas, refreshers and matcha.

Tinto’s Cafe now serving Colombian coffee in Cy-Fair
Tinto's Cafe offers specialty coffee, sourdough sandwiches and pastries, and house-made desserts. Coffees offered include cappuccinos, flat whites and espresso, among other specialty coffees.

Starbucks files plans for new Cypress location
Per a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filing, the new Starbucks is anticipated to be constructed at the intersection of West Road and Mason Road in Cypress.

Wild Eggs to open first Texas location in Cypress

Wild Eggs officials said the eatery has plans to expand with a new location in Cypress with plans to open by the end of the year.

The details: Founded in Louisville in 2007, per the website, today Wild Eggs has 19 locations across Kentucky, Indiana, and Ohio, with new cities arriving in 2026.

On the menu: The eatery is known for its scratch-made breakfast and brunch made with locally sourced ingredients. Per the website Wild Eggs specials include:

  • The Mad Platter: made with three eggs with bacon, sausage, home fries or stone-ground grits, a choice of bread and a large buttermilk pancake.
  • Country Fried Steak: a hand-breaded sirloin topped with white bacon gravy and served with two fried eggs, home fries and an Everything muffin.

H-GAC to host Safety Action Plan public meeting to discuss road safety in Greater Houston area

The Houston-Galveston Area Council will host a public meeting Aug. 5 for its Safety Action Plans—an effort to improve transportation safety and reduce serious roadway injuries and fatalities, according to a July 27 news release from H-GAC.

Why it matters: The Houston-Galveston region accounts for nearly 20% of traffic deaths in Texas, and every day an average of two people are killed and 10 people are seriously injured in traffic crashes across the region, according to H-GAC’s website.

A closer look: H-GAC is working with local governments, transportation agencies and community partners to identify critical issues and help lead future safety improvements, per the release.
