Preliminary plat of Post Oak Phase 1 approved by Fair Oaks Ranch City Council

A new neighborhood is making its way to Fair Oaks Ranch, with plans to construct 65 lots during the first phase and a total of 227 lots across all phases. City Council on Feb. 5 approved the preliminary plat for the first phase of the Post Oak Development.

What’s happening? The Post Oak development is planned to have four phases, with lots being a minimum of 1 acre.

For the first phase, comprised of 65 lots, 60 lots are planned for single-family home construction, while the other five lots are planned as easement lots.

In May, an amended development agreement was approved by City Council, reducing the total number of lots from 645 to 278. In the original development agreement from 2013, homes were on lots averaging around half an acre.

Since the approval of the development agreement, an amendment has been made, reducing the total number of single-family units from 278 to 227.

Das Festival of Kendall to feature new events, festivities for 2026

A local yearly German heritage festival is adding a new event for the upcoming celebration in Boerne.

Latest update: Das Festival of Kendall—a German heritage festival hosted yearly in downtown Boerne—announced the addition of a new event called the Das Pageant for 2026.

“We’re really trying to bring back the old traditions here in Boerne,” Veronica Brown, the Vice President of Das Festival of Kendall, told Community Impact.

Brown said the addition of the beauty pageant is one “baby step” toward bringing a dedicated German festival back into the spotlight for local residents after the Boerne Berges Fest ceased operations in 2021. The event first began in 1967.

More details: The new Das Pageant will feature participants from several age-based categories.

Final takeaways: The 3rd annual Das Festival of Kendall will take place on Father’s Day weekend, from June 19-21, at the Main Plaza in downtown Boerne.

Like last year’s event, the celebration will feature a myriad of German-inspired entertainment and activities, from Dachshund races to stein holding, Brown said.
