Kohlers Crossing water line project closes lane in Kyle

Travelers in North Kyle may experience delays due to a lane closure on Kohlers Crossing for new water infrastructure installation.

The overview: On Sept. 21, the right lane of westbound traffic on Kohlers Crossing between FM 1626 and Benner Road was closed. The closure supports the installation of a 24-inch water transmission line, according to a city news release.

The line will supply more water from the FM 1626 Pump Station to the well site. Once completed, the line will enhance the city’s water system and support the delivery of consistent and reliable water pressure throughout the community.

Looking forward: The lane closure is expected to last through December, according to the release. Access to Cromwell Drive, Everett Street, Burnham and Benner Road may be impacted at times.

Also of note: On Sept. 26, a vehicle accident took out the recently installed traffic signals at the Kohlers Crossing and Kyle Crossing intersection, according to the release. The intersection is currently operating as a four-way stop.
