Drivers can expect lane closures to continue at the intersection of Renner Road and Custer Parkway, as work to replace the water line will extend through Oct. 20.

What to expect: Two eastbound lanes of Renner Road and two northbound lanes of Custer Parkway will continue to be closed daily from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m., according to the city’s website.

S&S Cheesesteaks is slated to open in Richardson’s Promenade Center, according to store signage.

What they will serve: The eatery’s menu features a variety of cheesesteaks, including:

• Signature Philly cheesesteak
• Spicy pepper cheesesteak
• Barbecue cheesesteak
• Flaming hot Cheetos cheesesteak

Slick City Action Park, an indoor adventure park, is now open in Plano.

What you need to know: The park includes a variety of slides, jungle gyms, go-carts and swings, along with special programs including adults-only nights and designated times for toddlers, according to the company’s website. The Plano location will be at the intersection of Park Boulevard and Preston Road.

Also of note: Slick City also opened a location in Frisco earlier this year.

Grand Park is heading toward construction and a 2027 completion date for its first phase.

On Oct. 7, Frisco City Council unanimously approved a contract with Crossland Construction for the first phase of construction of Grand Park, which will span more than 1,000 acres when completed.

The details: The first phase of construction will include 68 acres of key infrastructure, lake and trail development, ecological enhancements, and public amenities such as pavilions, playgrounds and ponds.

Phase 1 of the project is set to cost $35 million, according to city documents.

Council approved an initial $1.1 million agreement with Crossland for preconstruction and site cleanup services at the Oct. 7 meeting, according to city documents.
