Argyle ISD, Lewisville ISD extend closures through Jan. 29

Argyle and Lewisville ISD campuses and facilities will remain closed on Thursday, Jan. 29 due to hazardous road conditions caused by freezing temperatures and winter weather, according to district announcements.

What you need to know: The announcements state that while road conditions have improved, many residential neighborhood streets and district parking lots are still unsafe.

LISD officials said extracurricular activities and campus events will be determined on a case-by-case basis, and coaches and program leaders will communicate with families.

All after school activities in AISD are cancelled, per the announcement.

LISD and AISD previously closed all campuses from Jan. 26-28 in response to freezing temperatures and unsafe road conditions.

Denton ISD extends school closures to Thursday as icy conditions continue

Denton ISD officials released a statement that all schools and facilities will be closed Thursday, Jan. 29, as icy conditions persist throughout the area.

What’s happening? According to a district release, too much ice remains on the roadways for the schools to safely open. With temperatures expected to dip below freezing overnight

Wednesday into Thursday, officials opted to err on the side of caution due to the expected road conditions.

District officials said they will continue to evaluate road conditions and share a statement on whether schools will be closed Friday, Jan. 30.
