What Sugar Land, Missouri City residents need to know about early voting for the Nov. 4 election

Voters in the Sugar Land-Missouri City area can partake in early voting for the Nov. 4 election from Oct. 20-31.

Dates to know: Residents can cast their votes at one of 28 early voting locations countywide, which are open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. from Oct. 20-25 and Oct. 27-31, according to Fort Bend County’s election website. Some locations are also open from noon-6 p.m. Oct. 26.

On the ballot: Missouri City voters will be able to determine several local races, including:


Meanwhile, Lamar CISD voters will decide on the district’s $1.99 billion bond, which includes four propositions for new campuses, stadium improvements, technology refresh and student devices.

Additionally, voters statewide will have the opportunity to weigh in on 17 proposed state constitutional amendments.

Looking ahead: Election Day is Nov. 4 with voting locations open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m., according to the Texas Secretary of State’s website.

Missouri City officials are seeking community input on Quail Valley Golf Club operation to help guide the club’s pricing and guest experiences, city officials announced in a Facebook post.

Get involved: Missouri City residents are encouraged to complete the Local Government Corporation community feedback survey as city officials prepare to update golf club rates and services, according to the post.

The survey comes as the golf club is undergoing over $15 million in renovations on its La Quinta course and City Centre, as well as the addition of a new golf maintenance facility, Community Impact reported.

Looking ahead: Following renovations, city officials expect total growth from between $4 million and $4.6 million in annual revenue to $5.4 million in 2027, Community Impact reported.

Chipotle opens 2nd Missouri City location featuring "Chipotlane" pick-up window

Chipotle Mexican Grill has opened a second location in Missouri City featuring a drive-thru window exclusively for digital orders.

The pick-up window, known as Chipotlane, was first introduced in early 2018 to make pickups faster and more convenient for guests and delivery drivers, officials announced in an Oct. 7 news release.

On the menu: The international restaurant chain serves build-your-own Mexican-inspired cuisine, such as bowls, burritos and quesadillas, according to its website.

Paul's Wine Pix is now opening in Bellaire, offering a bottled wine retail list that includes sparkling, rosé, white and red wines, according to the store’s website.

Along with new- and old-world selections of wine, the establishment also offers various food items, including charcuterie boards, sandwiches and pizza.

Bellaire residents Paul Kirchhoff and his parents, Steve and Linnea Kirchhoff, are the owners of Paul’s Wine Pix, which was founded out of Paul’s love for wine and desire to bring a diverse selection of wines to Houston, per the website.
