Shavano Park institutes permit, city services fee increases
During its Aug. 25 meeting, Shavano Park City Council voted unanimously to update the city’s administrative building permits and the emergency medical service fees. The gist: Assistant City Manager Curtis Leeth presented new adjustments made following the July 28 presentation to City Council.
Leeth said that the city scaled back their original fee increase proposals, dropping the residential fence and roof permit increases. City officials also reduced EMS fee increases to the 10% state law limitation. What happens next?: The new fee increases will take effect Sept. 3.
Everyone Eyecare opens 3rd clinic in North San Antonio
A new optometry clinic and eyewear boutique has opened its doors in Stone Oak.
A closer look: Everyone Eyecare opened its doors on July 16 at 3643 E. Evans Road, Ste. 103 in North San Antonio.
The optometry practice has two other locations in the area, one in New Braunfels and another on the northwest side of San Antonio.
What’s special about it?: Clinical staff told Community Impact that they offer standard optometry procedures and exams, including vision testing, eye check-ups, contact lens consultations and more.
Therapeutic services are offered to patients of all ages, including myopia management, dry eye therapy and other chronic condition management programs.
Additionally, there’s a wide selection of glasses and bifocals in the clinic’s eyewear boutique.
HTeaO continues expansion, North San Antonio location now open
A Texas-based tea chain has just added another location in the Alamo City.
In case you missed it: HTeaO opened a new location at 1638 NE. Loop 410 in northern San Antonio on Aug 23, the store manager told Community Impact.
The storefront is located on the corner of Loop 410 and Harry Wurzbach Road.
There are 11 additional locations across the San Antonio metro and others throughout Texas and surrounding states, according to their store locator map.
On the menu: The tea chain is known for its many tea varieties, from sweet fruity flavors to classic blends of green tea, according to the menu.
Speciality iced and hot coffee is also up for grabs alongside the make-your-own tea bar.
Tea by the gallon is another staple, where customers can fill up a gallon jug and mix and match flavors.
Additionally, there are snacks and other food available for purchase inside HTeaO.
A new Korean barbecue restaurant has officially opened its doors in Live Oak this week.
In case you missed it: KPOT Korean BBQ & Hot Pot opened on Aug. 28 at 7741 N. Loop 1604 E., Manager Jerry Stone told Community Impact.
What’s special about it: KPOT is a nationwide chain that offers traditional Korean barbecue combinations, according to their menu.
Items like beef bulgogi, short ribs and prime brisket, along with fresh vegetables, soups and a variety of noodles are available.
Customers create dishes in a build-your-own meal fashion, which are then heated on stoves at dining tables with assistance from restaurant staff, according to their website.
Also on the menu is a selection of handcrafted buffet-style Vietnamese hot pot classics.
The new location in Live Oak is one of two in the San Antonio area and 168 across the United States, according to the restaurant’s locator map.
