Austin Parkway reconstruction Phase 2: The second phase of the reconstruction project aims to improve pavement quality and drainage improvements on Austin Parkway between Sweetwater and Commonwealth boulevards.

Sugar Land Trail Phase 2: The 10-foot-wide concrete trail aims to support safer travel along Lexington Boulevard from Oxbow Drive to Hwy. 6 as well as along Austin Parkway between Lexington and Commonwealth boulevards.

Missouri City street reconstruction: In April 2025, Missouri City City Council approved a contract with Aranda Brothers Construction for the reconstruction of seven failing streets located west of McLain Boulevard.

Tings and Wacos has opened its doors in Missouri City, co-owner Malcolm Washington confirmed.

The location is the brand’s first brick-and-mortar restaurant, having grown out of a popular local food that serves wings and tacos.

What’s on the menu: The restaurant is known for its air-fried wings, a healthier alternative to the typical deep-fried option, Washington said. Its smoked brisket tacos are popular as well.

There are also vegetarian and vegan options available, as well as specialty options for events like movie nights and a Father’s Day brunch.

Landry’s Seafood House is now serving passengers near Gate 41 in William P. Hobby Airport, Houston Airport officials announced in a June 9 news release.

On the menu: The restaurant—which has both sit-down and bar seating—serves a variety of seafood options as well as steaks, sandwiches, salads, pasta and breakfast options, per the release. Guests can also enjoy a full bar with beer and cocktails.

Also of note: The new restaurant opening comes as the Houston area hosts the FIFA World Cup with an expected 4.5 million visitors across both Houston airports over the course of the tournament, Community Impact reported.

“Houston Airports is focused on creating a passenger experience that feels efficient, welcoming and distinctly Houston,” said Jim Szczesniak, director of aviation for Houston Airports. “Landry’s Seafood House gives Hobby Airport travelers a full-service dining option and a recognizable local connection as we prepare to welcome soccer fans from around the world.”
