Argyle council tables retail grant, seeks $200K for Argyle Nature Trail

A new commercial development is in the works on the property adjacent to Little Joe’s Farmstead located on US 377.

The Town Council unanimously tabled the approval of a Municipal Development District grant of up to $300,000 for the project at the Sept. 15 meeting so that town staff could discuss the project further with the developer and property owner, Colo Development Partners.

The overview: The proposed project, which is titled Argyle Market Place, will include three newly constructed retail buildings totaling approximately 23,000 square feet, according to town documents.

Parking spaces will be included for retail, tenants and visitors of the Argyle Nature Trail, which is located on the adjacent property.

In similar news: Argyle officials are seeking a $200,000 reimbursement grant to help the town fund construction of the Argyle Nature Trail located on Cook Street.

Baylor Scott & White to open new heart clinic in Argyle

What's happening: Baylor Scott & White is opening a new cardiovascular center in Argyle in 2026, said Matthew Olivolo, manager of North Texas media relations for Baylor Scott & White Health Systems.

A closer look: Construction is expected to begin in October, according to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. The 2,915 square-foot project is expected to cost $550,000.

“We look forward to sharing additional details in the coming months,” Olivolo said.

200-unit apartment complex moves ahead in Flower Mound

The final component of the first phase for the 46-acre mixed-use development Silveron Park, a 200-unit apartment complex, is moving forward.

The Flower Mound Planning and Zoning Commission unanimously approved a site plan for three apartment buildings during its Sept. 22 meeting.

The details: Silveron Park’s developer, Thompson Realty Capital, is proposing three four-story apartment buildings that will include 200 units in total on 8.94 acres, according to town documents. The site plan also includes 331 parking spaces and depicts amenities, including a pool, courtyard and fenced-in dog park, said Chuck Russell, a principal planner with the town.

Diving deeper: Before a certificate of occupancy is issued for the multifamily housing, the developer must:

  • Complete site work for three proposed pad sites in the commercial development
  • Finish construction on 75,000 square feet of nonresidential space on the site, which includes completion of a final building inspection indicating that finish out permits are ready to be applied for

What to know about the 17 state propositions on the Nov. 4 ballot

Texas voters will decide on 17 proposed amendments to the state constitution during the Nov. 4 election.

The overview: The propositions, which were adopted by state lawmakers earlier this year, include measures aimed at reducing property taxes, funding water supply projects and creating a state dementia research institute.

“This is an opportunity to make your voice heard about the governing document of our state,” Secretary of State Jane Nelson said in a June 25 statement.

More details: Texans have until Oct. 6 to register to vote in the upcoming election. Early in-person voting runs from Oct. 20-31, and Election Day is Nov. 4.
