Wildwood Springs Elementary School now open in Dripping Springs

Dripping Springs ISD’s newest elementary school, Wildwood Springs, held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Sept. 9 to celebrate the school’s opening.

The details: Wildwood Springs is the sixth elementary school in DSISD. The school opened for operation in August with the capacity to serve 850 students in pre-K through fifth grade.

How we got here: The new school is located in the Headwaters neighborhood and was built to relieve overcrowding in Dripping Springs and Walnut Springs elementary schools.

Delaware North acquires Dripping Springs event venue, Cactus Moon Lodge

Global hospitality and entertainment company Delaware North has acquired Cactus Moon Lodge, an event venue located in Dripping Springs’ Hill Country.

The specifics: As a family-owned and -operated business, Cactus Moon Lodge hosts a range of special events including weddings and gatherings. According to a media release shared with Community Impact, the town is known as the “wedding capital of Texas.”

With eight cabin-style lodging units and one main lodge with a grand room, dining area and open-concept kitchen, the lodge also features an outdoor deck with seating for 100 people and overlooks an outdoor pool with ravine views.

The inspiration: Delaware North’s parks and resorts division has worked with a range of hospitality and lodging companies from national and state parks to hotels and more.

The team will operate Cactus Moon Lodge and plans to extend the group and event business at the venue by making a full calendar of dates available year-round.

Assisted Living Locators guides locals searching for senior living options

Assisted Living Locators announced the opening of its Austin location, bringing its nationwide senior placement services to the greater Austin area.

What to know: Owned and operated by Carrie and Jeff Leinen, the location offers services for a range of situations from families exploring independent living and assisted living to those looking for in-home care solutions or memory care.

Interested families can look into services such as personalized senior care assessments, guided tours and placement support, financial guidance and emergency placement assistance. Throughout services, customers can find ongoing support from their initial consultation to after placement follow ups.

“Helping families find the right care for their loved ones is deeply personal to us,” Carrie Leinen said. “We understand the emotional and logistical challenges of navigating the aging journey. Our mission is to be trusted advocates, providing clarity, compassion and personalized guidance to every client.”

A new location of Mendocino Farms is opening soon in Sunset Valley.

The menu at Mendocino Farms offers fresh sandwiches, salads, soups and sides. The “chef’s specials” menu features sandwiches and salads made with seasonal fruits and vegetables, such as the sweet peach and goat cheese salad, summer heirloom BLT and watermelon ‘poke’ salad.

To drink, the restaurant serves housemade beverages, including a passion fruit black tea and pomegranate mint lemonade.

TC4 & Co restaurant group is bringing new locations of Tony C’s Pizza & Beer Garden and The League Kitchen & Tavern to Georgetown in 2026.

TC4 & Co plans to construct the new restaurants at 1411 S. I-35 frontage road, Georgetown, on property it owns, according to a representative with Pennington Public Relations.

The League Kitchen & Tavern serves burgers, chicken pot pie, weekend brunch and a variety of drinks at four locations in the Austin area.

Tony C’s Pizza & Beer Garden currently has five locations in the Austin area, including offerings at the Moody Center and Dell Diamond. Menu items include mozzarella sticks, lasagna, pizzas, sandwiches, and a selection of beer and wine.
