Jewelry store, event space coming to Downtown Georgetown, plus other business updates

A full-service jewelry store is coming to downtown Georgetown and a restaurant on the square will renovate its space into a lounge and event center. Learn more about these business updates and more below.

The full-service jewelry store offers custom designs, repairs, engraving, cleaning and appraisals, and the shop will open in late October. This is local jeweler Efrain Montes’ third location, and the business's second location in Georgetown.

Juliet Italian Kitchen
The downtown Georgetown restaurant announced on Facebook that owners Veneto Hospitality will be converting the space into a lounge and event venue. Dining services at the restaurant are paused, according to the post. The new event space is currently accepting bookings and a name for the space will be announced in November.

Georgetown ISD to enhance cellular coverage at some campuses this fall

Georgetown ISD will make nearly $1 million in improvements to cellular signal equipment at new and recently renovated school facilities.

The GISD board of trustees approved allocating bond funds to finance the projects at an Oct. 20 board meeting. The cellular enhancements are meant to address concerns about the reliability of cellular communication in the district during emergencies, according to GISD information.

What you need to know: GISD will install equipment to provide enhanced in-building cellular coverage at Frost Elementary, the Future Ready Complex, San Gabriel Elementary and Benold Middle School.

The board voted to allocate some of the remaining construction funds from those campuses to cover the cost of the projects.

The district is planning to begin working on the cellular signal upgrades at the end of October for a projected completion date of Jan. 1, according to GISD documents.

Looking ahead: The new cellular equipment will be installed at future GISD facilities, including Elementary School No. 12, Middle School No. 5 and High School No. 4.

 
Williamson County Coverage
WilCo property owners will soon receive property tax statements

Williamson County property owners will receive their 2025 property tax statements soon, after they were mailed out beginning Oct. 21, according to a county news release.

Most property owners should see the statements arrive the following week.

What you need to know: Property taxes are due upon receipt of the statement, and become delinquent, incurring penalty and interest Feb. 1.

Taxpayers can pay their bill online or utilize payment drop boxes located at all Williamson County tax office locations.

Something to note: Statements for about 55,000 properties in the city of Austin, Liberty Hill ISD, Taylor ISD, Coupland ISD and the Anderson Mill Limited District will go out after the Nov. 4 general election, as voters are being asked to approve these entities' adopted rates.

PGA Tour golf tournament to take place at Omni Barton Creek golf course in 2026

A golf tournament presented by The PGA Tour and Good Good Golf will take place at Omni Barton Creek Resort and Spa’s Fazio Canyons Course on Nov. 9-15, according to a news release.

The overview: The inaugural Good Good Championship will be broadcast on NBC’s Golf Channel, taking place during the FedExCup Fall at Omni Barton Creek.

The event will feature a field size of 120 players, with 500 FedExCup points awarded to the winner.

The details: “The PGA TOUR is proud to return to the great City of Austin for the first time since 2023 for the Good Good Championship, an exciting new event as part of the FedExCup Fall,” said Tyler Dennis, PGA TOUR chief competitions officer in the news release. “We are pleased to partner with Good Good Golf and Omni Hotels & Resorts on this unique event as the PGA TOUR further connects and engages with our game’s younger fans.”
