Everwood Reserve plans early 2027 opening in Tomball’s Medical District

A new assisted-living and memory care community is slated to open in early 2027, co-founder and CEO Andrea Ameen confirmed.

The inspiration: The center is being developed by founders Andrea and Aaron Ameen. Andrea Ameen said the couple’s personal experiences with loved ones facing dementia and Alzheimer’s inspired them to pursue senior care.

After years of real estate investing and work in human and community development, the Ameens decided to combine their backgrounds to create what they intend to be “one of the premier communities for seniors in the Houston area.”

The impact: Tomball’s rapid growth and limited supply of assisted-living and memory care options made the location a natural fit, Andrea Ameen said. Its proximity to the Medical District will also provide residents with convenient access to health care services.

Everwood Reserve will offer 24/7 assisted living and memory care, meals curated by a private chef, housekeeping, concierge services, daily community programming and partnerships with community organizations focused on holistic wellness.

Tomball City Council OKs rezoning requests supporting commercial, residential, office uses

Tomball City Council approved three rezoning requests Nov. 17, clearing the way for new commercial development, future duplex housing and the formalization of a longstanding office use on Zion Road.

The context: Council approved rezoning 2.109 acres at 22700 Hufsmith-Kohrville Road from agricultural to commercial.

The property, made up of two tracts totaling just over two acres, sits along a major corridor and is located within an area the city identifies as suitable for commercial growth, city staff said. The change supports future nonresidential development and aligns with surrounding commercial activity.

Council also approved rezoning 3.140 acres on Medical Complex Drive from agricultural to duplex.

The request, submitted by Harkins Medical Properties, shifts the tract—located near Tomball’s growing medical district—toward residential use. The duplex zoning designation will allow for the development of two-unit residential structures.

A third zoning approval brings an existing office use into compliance. Council approved rezoning 0.9966 acres at 13519 Zion Road from single-family to office.
