New retail and restaurants could be on the horizon for Prosper Trail near the future Dallas North Tollway.
Zooming out: A potential boutique shopping area would be the first step forward for a $300 million, 35-acre mixed-use development known as the Prosper Arts District that has faced delays since its approval in 2024.
Some details: The retail area would be located on the corner of Prosper Trail and Shawnee Trail, which is consistent with conceptual plans approved by Prosper Town Council in 2024.
The gist: Conceptual plans from 2024 include a retail village, restaurants, offices, hotels and apartments with structured parking.
In his own words: “The goal is to start [building the] retail as soon as we can,” developer Krishna Nimmagadda said. “Then we wait for how things go, how partners come in, how the markets evolve.”
