Project: The project, which was first presented in 2024, would connect Intermodal Parkway in the AllianceTexas to Old Denton Road. A new elevated bridge, 1.4 miles in length, would be constructed from the main lanes east of I-35W to Intermodal Parkway, with associated roadway on either side, for a total project of 2.4 miles. Nearly 10 additional acres would need to be purchased to construct the road, but no residential or non-residential structures are anticipated to be displaced at this time, according to TxDOT.

Update: Public hearings for the project were held in person and virtually July 28 to gather public input. Schematic design and environmental work would start in the spring of 2027, according to a news release. ​​​​​​

Zumiez, an apparel store with an emphasis on the skateboarding lifestyle, will open a new location at Tanger Outlets Fort Worth.

What’s happening? According to a release from Tanger Outlets, Zumiez will open this fall. The brand offers a blend of sportswear, streetwear, accessories and footwear for men and women that are geared toward skateboarding and snowboarding, according to a release from Tanger Outlets.

The 2,000-square-foot store will be located across from Hurley and next to OshKosh B’Gosh. The retailer carries dozens of brands, such as Skechers, DC, Ed Hardy and Fox Racing, according to its website.

There are six Zumiez stores open in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, including one at Grapevine Mills in Grapevine.

Texas A&M has partnered with gas station and convenience store Buc-ee’s to launch co-branded merchandise to be available on campus and at select Buc-ee’s locations.

The gist: The university was the first institution in the country to partner with Buc-ee’s in March, with some of the store’s products sold on campus. Buc-ee’s founder Arch “Beaver” Aplin III, who is also a graduate of the university, said the partnership is a way to celebrate both brands.

According to a news release from the university, the launch of the merchandise partnership will include a shirt featuring Buc-ee the beaver and Texas A&M iconography. According to the news release, the shirt will also be sold at the Barnes & Noble on the university’s campus.

What’s next: The co-branded material will be available at Buc-ee's locations in Central Texas and the greater Dallas and Houston areas. The university said future product releases are planned throughout the upcoming school year, which coincides with Texas A&M's 150th anniversary celebration.
