Manvel approves $15.1M in road, utility projects

Manvel City Council approved several completed road and utility improvements totaling approximately $15.1 million at its Feb. 2 meeting.

The details: The approved infrastructure projects include:

  • Dogwood Avenue: roadway construction along Dogwood Avenue, including water lines, sanitary sewer, storm drainage and sidewalks ($3.44 million)
  • Valencia sections 13, 14 and 15: utility and roadway infrastructure for multiple phases of the Valencia development, serving a total of 10 residential streets (approximately $8.1 million total)
  • Meridiana Detention Basin: stormwater detention and drainage improvements to support flood control ($1.30 million)
  • Kruzer Street and Meridiana Parkway: utility extensions along Kruzer Street and Meridiana Parkway ($2.35 million)

Pearland pudding shop with custom banana pudding recipes relocates

The Puddery recently relocated to a new space a few doors down from its previous location. 

The overview:
Established in 2006 by Janel Prator, The Puddery sells a variety of sweet treats, such as pudding, bread pudding and cheesecake on a stick. Special banana pudding flavors include caramel, Oreo, strawberry and Biscoff. 

The backstory:
A self-proclaimed born entrepreneur, Prator said she knew she was destined to start her own business from a young age, as previously reported by Community Impact.

8 events to attend in the Greater Houston area for Super Bowl LX
