Prosper ISD kicks off superintendent search

Prosper ISD is starting the months-long process to hire a new superintendent, according to a district news release.

In a nutshell: Doug Williams, a partner at Impact Education, presented a timeline to fill the position by the end of the year at a June 17 board of trustees work session.

Get involved: Community members will be able to provide feedback through in-person sessions and an online survey expected to go out the week of July 14, Williams said.

In case you missed it: Deputy Superintendent Bill McLaughlin was named acting superintendent of schools in May and will oversee the start of the 2026-27 school year until a permanent replacement is found, Williams said.

The park, originally expected to open in June, was discussed during a July 7 work session as construction continues to progress at the site.

Zooming in: Northwest Community Park will be a first-of-its-kind park that will be geared toward cyclists. The 122-acre park will include bike facilities for all ages, a splash pad, playgrounds, public art, shade structures, prairie overlook observation deck, miles of hike-and-bike trails and expanding landscape ecologies, Assistant City Manager Shannon Coates said.
