BODYBAR will open its 100th Pilates studio in the Presidio area of north Fort Worth in September, according to a company news release.

The gist: The studio will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a soft opening Sept. 2 starting at 5 p.m. ahead of its official opening the following week. The soft opening will have a beer burro and tequila donkey serving the studio’s signature drink, The Hundred, in honor of the 100th opening. Other attractions include a balloon artist and converted Volkswagen vans offering beer and champagne, the release states.

BODYBAR is a franchised, boutique brand that started in Texas and offers small-group reformer Pilates classes, according to its website. The classes are led by Pilates instructors and focus on exercises that build strength and stamina. All expertise levels, including beginners, are welcome to the classes.

First-time franchise owner Shay Werkheiser will operate the Presidio studio.

HAT Plumbing, Heating & Air, owned by Joe Hall, Joey Allen and Gregg Turner, recently celebrated its first anniversary in Fort Worth.

The details: The company provides routine and emergency services for drains, piping and repiping, plumbing repairs, sewer services, sump pumps, garbage disposals, air conditioning repair, heating repair and furnace installation, according to its website.

HAT accepts appointments from 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday through Friday, but also provides 24/7 emergency services for plumbing, heating and air-conditioning problems, its website states.
“My partners and I wanted to create something of our own that would raise the bar for customer service in the home-services industry,” Hall said.

What else? Hall said the business opened July 1, 2025. Its service areas in Tarrant County includes Keller, Fort Worth, Grapevine, Southlake, Colleyville and North Richland Hills.

Dallas Fort Worth International Airport is seeing an uptick in premium lounges in Terminals C and D and the still-under-construction Terminal F.

“We continue to advance one of the nation's most comprehensive premium lounge portfolios, with more than 20 existing spaces and a planned 45% expansion in total lounge space over the next few years,” DFW Airport CEO Scott McLaughlin said at the Aug. 6 board meeting.

1. American Airlines
Fort Worth-based American Airlines plans to open its largest Admirals Club lounge within Terminal C at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, according to a news release.
The airline also plans to include a grab-and-go option inside the initial phase of Terminal F, which is expected to open next year.

2. American Express
American Express will expand its Centurion Lounge at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport in Terminal D.
The $35 million project, according to a state filing, will expand and renovate the lounge into a neighboring vacant space near Gate D12.

1. Core Scientific renovations
One of Denton’s two data centers, Core Scientific, will see renovations for a 27,678 square-foot facility to be used as a data hall, according to a TDLR filing.

The Texas Department of Insurance must take action to promote competition and “prohibit excessive or unfairly discriminatory rate setting" in the state's homeowners insurance market, Gov. Greg Abbott said Aug. 24.

The background: Texans are paying the fourth-highest home insurance premiums in the nation, Community Impact previously reported. State data shows that the average Texas home insurance premium nearly doubled from $1,791 in 2016 to $3,506 in 2025.

The details: Abbott asked the TDI to prohibit insurers from using the age of a home and homeowners' personal data when setting rates; create a task force targeting insurance fraud; study the impact of inflated insurance claims; and require insurers to consider a homeowner's participation in a roof fortification program when writing policies.

Another perspective: "Under Greg Abbott, Texas has been one of the most expensive states in the country to own and maintain a home," Gina Hinojosa, the Democratic candidate for Texas governor, said in a statement. "If Abbott really wanted to lower costs, he would have done it in the last 12 years."
