Keller officials OK Amazing Hair Salon’s return to original Old Town location

Amazing Hair Salon will return to Old Town Keller after city officials approved a specific use permit for the business during the July 7 City Council meeting.

The details: The motion passed 5-0-1, with council members Karen Brennan voting no and Jarrett "Doc" Armstrong abstaining.

The hair salon previously operated at the West Hill Street location from June 2019 to April 2024 and required a specific use permit for Seferina Ramirez to reopen the business. The building has been vacant since.

Council was deadlocked 3-3 at the May 5 meeting, meaning the request failed, according to previous reporting.

Zooming in: During this discussion, questions were raised about whether a to-go food establishment could work in the 500-square-foot building, which is on 0.06 acres.

Economic Development Director Ana Erwin said the size of the building makes it challenging to look for other tenants.
